Post a comment Search on Ebay Search on GEMM | | A friend was throwing this out, so I took it. I remember being very excited when this, New Order's comeback record (released 5 years after 1989's 'Technique') was released. The single, 'Regret', is really quite wonderful, but the rest of the album could be best described as 'Not quite as bad as people say'. To be fair, it's not actually bad at all. It just sounds very dated, and the songs have a kind of over-produced feel that takes the magic away.
That said, I had forgotten how much I must have listened to this at the time (I recall having all the singles, but never owning the album). Each note seems familiar to me, so I can quite happily have it on. When push comes to shove, though, the only tracks are I really like are 'Regret' and the final track, 'Avalanche'. Perhaps the time will come when this record sounds good, but I don't think this will be for a while, for me anyway. | New Order recommendations at Musical Taste Sooner Than You Think Dreams Never End Perfect Kiss As it is, when it was Love Vigilantes Temptation Round & Round
| Links for New Order http://www.neworderonline.com/ I don't yet own 'Get Ready', but I'm a huge New Order fan, and their influence on me is still going strong. This is the official site, and is therefore a little flash-heavy, but has a great discography nevertheless.
