Post a comment Search on Ebay Search on GEMM | | This is actually much better than you would think. There are 12 tracks, all of them sung by this male and female vocal ensemble. Some of them are rather uninspiring, but there were four tracks that really stood out for me as great examples of that swinging scat/jazz vocal style of the time. Even better, while they're all famous songs, none of these were formerly favorites of mine. The tracks were "This could be the start of something big," "Surrey with a fringe on top" (rendered here as a nice bossa), "Something's gotta give," and "Limehouse Blues" (come to think of it, I'm very fond of the Esquivel version of this track.
I think this would appeal to a lot of collectors in Japan, and is definitely worth the 50p or so for which you can pick it up (I think my copy was actually 10p!). |
