Post a comment Search on Ebay Search on GEMM | | The better known 'bacharach baroque', this one was produced by Snuff Garrett, and is much more poppy. The arrangements, by Al Capps, are peppy and fast. The vocals are all wordless, and very much at the forefront. It's really a delightful record; standout tracks are 'do you know the way to san jose' and 'close to you' (which I noticed was sampled by Tipsy on the Uh Oh album). | The Renaissance recommendations at Musical Taste Close to You
| Comments: konsu: “It figures this would be the only place that had any info on this great american garagesale treasure (that was not in japanese!). Highly recommended for fans of "vocalese". It reminds me of the great work by The Jumping Jacques, which have been reissued recently. I'm partial to their take on "What the World Needs Now", which almost seems out of context in a way? Snap it up if you see it!”
